Schedule of Duties.
1.
He shall have the general supervision and inspection of all Boats, Coal &c., Buoys, and Moorings.
He shall make a quarterly inspection of all Police Floating Craft, and send a report on their cleanliness and efficiency to the Captain Superintendent of Police for the information of the Government.
He shall make a quarterly inspection of the Water Police, and send a report on their efficiency in their nautical, as distinguished from their Police duties, to the Captain Superintendent of Police for the information of the Government.
He shall make a monthly visit to the various patrols, and shall conduct Boat-drill &c., when on patrol.
He shall endeavour to obtain, and to examine men for the Water Police, and send would-be recruits with a note as to their qualifications to the Captain Superintendent of Police.
He shall deliver simple lectures to European Water Police on the Observance of the Rule of the Road, Upkeep of Boats, Use of Compass, Local Navigation, Barometer and Weather, Use of Chart and the determination of position and distance of any point by bearings of Compass, Application of Resuscitative Method to the drowned, and on such other matters as may be deemed to contribute to the greater efficiency and knowledge of the men.
